- First of all, I am not a gamer, so don't ask me if this card lets you play game X at frame rate Y. I don't know. I bought it as an upgrade to an old ATI Radeon HD3870 card as I wanted to use the application acceleration features in Adobe Photoshop and DxO Optics Pro.The card is compact - much smaller than the older ATI - but it does take up two slot spaces. Unlike many GPUs, the fan has no cover or duct. I worried that the fan would be noisy, but it is inaudible over my already quiet CPU and power supply fans (I do have a very quiet system.)When I installed it, Windows 7 x64 automatically downloaded drivers which installed fine, but I got newer ones from Nvidia's web site, which also installed fine.I was a bit taken aback, when I ran the Windows Experience Index test, that the graphics rating went DOWN from 7.1 to 6.9.
