  • Not much to say about the card itself other than it's a fairly cheap but solid 6850 card with no issues running under Win 7 64-bit and in Lucid Virtu mode with i5 2500K (Intel HD 3000). Skyrim set to ultra setting still runs very smoothly and looks stunning with Lucid Virtu on a Z68 board. The fan is near silent when idle or slightly used, but when under heavy load stress test it cranks up to very loud whirling sound. In Skyrim the fan is mostly acceptable still, but could get loud as the scene gets heavy. One problem though is after just two weeks the fan is starting to make strange noises as if it's caught on something, typical "I am about to die" syndrome with these VGA card fans.*UPDATE*Well,…
  • I haven't thrown anything too taxing at this card yet, but it has perfectly handled maxed out settings on Bioshock and the Steam games I've installed. The Radeon drivers gave me grief when I tried to install the full Catalyst software... I ended up having to uninstall those and then re-install only the basic drivers, and then everything worked okay. This was definitely the best deal out there for price/performance at the cost bracket I was looking for.
