  • This card meets Spore's requirement. However, the card requires a power supply of at least 350W. In the midst of my frustrations of trying to refurbish my Dell Dimension 3000 to work with this card, I was thinking to simply get a newer computer. Yet the new and cheap desktop computers I visited at Best Buy and Staples have power supply box up to 300W. (Had to ask the guys to open the box to find the watt data.) Nor would their integrated video port meet the Spore criteria. If I purchased one of them, it would mean that I had to exchange this PCI card to one for PCIe bus. The gaming computers on eBay are around $1000, which would be an overkill for my kids. In conclusion, this card does work.…
  • Considering that this is the same item as the one I purchased from Staples, product code VCG84512SPPB, then this is an awesome card. It is a PCI card and my understanding is that this is one of the older interfaces on motherboards. PCI-e(PCI-Express) is not the same as plain ol' PCI. I installed this graphics card on Windows XP Service Pack 1. With all of the drivers I could get through microsoft update and off the CD, I still could not change the color to 32-bit. It would only allow me to have 4 bit. And at this setting, no computer games could run. After trying to reinstall this card many different ways with consulting PNY I finally discovered it on my own.
