• I have a modest computer w/ only a couple available PCIex1 slots (not PCIe x16) and wanted to run 4 monitors w/ out breaking the bank. Bought 2 and it worked out great on my win7 box b/c they were (a) PCIe x1, (b) didn't need an external power source (c) slim and didn't take up 2 slots like other cards (d) came w/ the 2 connector adapter and (e) new enough that AMD/ATI still offers good driver support. • I bought this thinking it was the reference card but it is not. It is a revised model and when I first received it I was bummed because you can only flash the bios' of the reference 6950's. I was going to just send it back but I said what the heck and tried it out anyway. I unlocked the shaders very easily and have the clocks running at 880mhz and 1350mhz. As far as I am concerned this is the best card on the market as of right now. It has the new revised pcb, dual fans for cooling, and dual bios switch. I know for a fact you can unlock the shaders but I didn't try to flash the card to a 6970 and never was going to anyway. From a few reviews I have read some people have problems when they flash…
• As of June 1st the two of these Visontek 6950s I received are the newest rev. No Bios switch and completely non-standard design. One bricked and didnt try to the other without a bios switch, no joy. Good luck still a great card.

Graphics are nice, playback is smooth, and connectivity (HDMI) through my HT Receiver was a non-issue. The card runs cool (not over clocked) and is relatively quiet, compared to others I have tried. • This card is very good for 40$ no question, only its not for gaming. If youre looking for a gaming card and have a budget i would suggest a radeon 6670 HD $90-$120 or if you have a few more bucks a 6770 for around $110-$130. The 6770 runs skyrim around ~60 fps while the 6670 runs skyrim around ~35 fps. Only thing is the 6770 needs an additional power cord which you may already have inside. You can effectively run either card on a 350watt power supply, even though 6670 requires 400-450 and the 6770 requires 650wt. You shouldnt have a problem even with a 300wt.

• Overall I am highly pleased with the performance of this AGP Video Card. Purchased to replace a 512MB card that recently gave up the ghost. The only downside was that it does not take a standard power supply plug. Recently upgraded my power supply to a new 850 watt power supply and there were no connectors for this video card. The power supply connector on it is an older 4 pin disc drive power connection. Went to local Computer store and purchased a connection for $5.00. Relatively painless. Was a snap to install and works flawlessly. Would highly recommend as an upgrade on an older AGP video supplied system.
